Report Cards Issued (2/1/13) and Parent Conferences (2/7/13)






Report Cards will be disseminated to all students on Friday, February 1, 2013 during the last block of the day, period 7.




The final Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for February 7, 2013 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM. These conferences are an opportunity for you to meet with your student’s teachers to discuss their classroom progress and to meet new teachers your student may have for the second semester. Although you are able to keep up with your student’s progress via the parent portal of Power School, a sit down conference with the teacher is always beneficial.  Once again, we will be using the online scheduling system, pick-a-time, to sign up for conferences. Starting at noon today (January 31,2013), and until 2:00 PM on February 7, 2013, you can sign up online for a parent conference with your student’s teachers.

The process to sign up is simple and convenient. The account you set up last October is still active, so if you already registered, just click on SLRHS pick-a-time February 7 2013 to log in. As always, if you don’t get an appointment with any teacher you would like to see, you can ALWAYS contact the teacher directly via email to set up a mutually convenient time.


What if I don’t have an account?

If you have not registered with pick-a-time, follow the directions below to create an account.

Pick-a-Time is a web-based application to schedule conferences with teachers during the February 7, 2013 parent/teacher conferences. By using Pick-a-Time, you can schedule appointments that meet your busy schedule, print your scheduled appointments, and even receive an email reminder. In order to use Pick-a-Time, you will need to know your student’s ID number. This can be found on a student schedule, a progress report, a report card, or via the Parent Portal on PowerSchool.Create a Parent Account

In order to schedule parent/teacher conferences in Pick-a-Time, you will need to create a user account.

1. Go to

TIMESAVER: You may want to bookmark your school’s Pick-a-Timelink as a favorite for future use.

WARNING: Do not go to the Pick-a-Time main website to create your appointments.

2. Create an account by entering your email address and a password. If you do not have an email address, you can make one up using, e.g., This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

3. Click the Login/Create Account button.

4. Fill out the required fields. The First and Last name fields should be your name, not your student’s name.

5. Click the OK button.

6. Enter your student’s ID# and birthday (mm/dd/yyyy format) in theStudent ID and Student’s birthday fields.

7. Click the Add button.

NOTE: You can add additional children attending this school once you have selected a conference date.

Create Appointments

You can begin scheduling appointments once you have created an account. Each school determines the start and end dates and times for appointment taking in Pick-a-Time. Please check with your school regarding these dates.

1. Log in to your school’s Pick-a-Time site if you are not currently logged in.

2. If you have additional students attending this same school, enter their Student ID and birthday and click the Add button.

3. Click the colored square for the teacher whom you would like to schedule an appointment.

4. Deselect the check box if you do not want an email reminder or you can change the time frame of the reminder.

5. Click the Create Appointment button. A black square indicates your scheduled appointment. A white square indicates the time is unavailable.

6. Continue until all appointments have been scheduled.

Print a Schedule

1. Click the Printable schedule link.

2. Use your browser’s print command to print a copy of your schedule.

3. Click the Return link to return to the Appointment screen.

4. Click Logout when finished.

NOTE: Please bring your schedule with you to the conference.

Cancel or Change Scheduled Appointments

You may cancel or change an appointment any time prior to the end date/time of Pick-a-Time appointment taking. If you need to cancel or change an appointment after that time, please contact your school.

Cancel an Appointment

1. Log in to your school’s Pick-a-Time site.

2. Click the Your schedule link.

3. Click the Cancel link next to the scheduled date and time.

4. Click the Cancel Appointment button to confirm the cancellation.

5. Print a new copy of your schedule. Follow the directions above for printing your schedule.

NOTE: Follow Steps 2-4 to cancel additional appointments.

Change an Appointment

1. Log in to Pick-a-Time.

2. Click the Your schedule link.

3. Click the Change time link.

4. Select a new date or time for this teacher appointment.

5. Click the Change Appointment button to confirm this change.

6. Print a new copy of your schedule. Follow the directions above for printing your schedule.

NOTE: Follow Steps 2-4 to change additional appointments.

Edit Pick-a-Time Account Information

You may edit your Pick-a-Time account at any time.

1. Log in to Pick-a-Time.

2. Click the Edit Profile/Change Password link.

3. Make any changes to your account.

4. Click the Update button.

5. Click Logout when finished.
