We’re on TV …again!

As you already know, Spirit Week was held here two weeks ago. Our ever resourceful librarian/media specialist, Linda Redding, submitted a video to WCVB Channel 5 for their Wake-Up call segment. Our school was chosen for an on air good morning shout out! In case you didn’t have your TV on at 5:15 AM last Tuesday morning, I’ve placed a link to the video below.

SL does Channel 5 Wake Up Call

With the change in temperature and the color of the leaves, it is evident that the school year is well under way. On October 2nd, the PTO hosted guest speakers Mrs. Fontaine and Mrs. Gill who discussed the new programs to be rolled out school wide with Project Silver and  Ms. Lopes who discussed events presented by SADD, as well as a proposed future initiative regarding Social Hosting. This sub-committee will be exploring the possibility of instituting mandatory parent attendance at a “social hosting type” event in order for students to purchase Junior and Senior Prom tickets this spring. Your input is very important; if you are interested in joining the sub-committee looking into this initiative, please contact Ms. Marlene Lopes at mlopes@slrsd.org or PTO Chairperson Dawn Walsh at dawnewalsh@yahoo.com. For more information regarding this meeting, please visit the  PTO link to the minutes for October 2nd.

The next PTO meeting is Monday, November 5th, in the library. At this meeting, you will be able to preview the complete school apparel line. The apparel is available for sale at home football games,at the school store, on the website, and at the winter sports registration night on November 19th.
The guest speakers for this meeting will be faculty advisers from Key Club, National Honor Society, and Student Council.
