Fall Musical

Silver Lake Regional High School Drama Club to present Cole Porter’s Anything Goes Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 17-19, at 7:00 PM in the SLRHS Auditorium.  Tickets are $7.00 for Students and Senior Citizens and $9.00 General Admission.  Tickets can be reserved by calling the Box Office at 781-585-3844 x1001.

The musical is directed by Silver Lake Music teachers Kelley DePasqua and Sandee Foley and features a cast and crew of more than 50 students, including tap dancers!

From the Health Clinic

Grade 9 Students

We will conduct Scoliosis Screening for Grade 9 students during their Wellness Classes starting on Monday, November 21 and concluding on Wednesday, November 23, 2011.  A letter of explanation will be sent home with students in Grade 9. Please fill out the bottom portion of the letter and have your student bring it back to Wellness class during the time of screenings if you DO NOT wish your child to take part in the screening.

Grade 10 Students

We will conduct vision and hearing screenings, as well as BMI measurements beginning in the third term, (late January). As with the postural screenings, a letter explaining the process and an opt-out form will be made available.

Grade 11 Students

All students in Grade 11 are required by law to have a recent physical examination.  Documentation must be received by the nurse’s office before the end of first semester in January.

Mrs. Crowley’s  Children’s Literature class hosted three guest speakers today who have published the first two children’s books of a series History for Little Hands.  The speakers, Silver Lake alumni Michelle Skye Santos (Class 1988) and Amanda Brack (Class of 2008), shared their experiences with researching, writing, and illustrating the books about famous women in history.  Rui Santos of CSP Publications also joined the presentation along students from Mrs. Napolitano’s art class and Mrs. Pimental’s Child Development class.  Another Silver Lake graduate, Karen Hanrahan, was the graphic designer of the books which are targeted for young readers, kindergarten through grade 2.

Silver Lake graduates Michelle Santos (1988) and Amanda Brack (2008) along with marketing director Rui Santos, discuss their children's books with students from Mrs. Crowley's, Mrs. Pimental's, and Mrs. Napolitano's classes.
